Die Grenze zwischen Ost und West existiert noch, aber sie ist mehr zu einer Floskel geworden. Im Westen Berlins sind Stra\u00dfen, L\u00e4den und Banken \u00fcberf\u00fcllt &#8211; die Angebote im Osten locken zunehmend Westb\u00fcrger*innen in den Ostteil. Im Palast der Republik tritt Solomon Burke auf, massiger US-amerikanischer Soul- und Rhythm and Blues-S\u00e4nger. Der Eintrittspreis ist erstaunlich niedrig. Karten verf\u00fcgbar. Der Palast der Republik reizt mich zus\u00e4tzlich. Also mit Andreas auf kurzem Weg \u00fcber Heinrich-Heine-Stra\u00dfe von Kreuzberg (West) nach Mitte (Ost).<\/p>\n<p>Foyer, Gl\u00e4serne Blume, Restaurants, Imbisse? Wir m\u00fcssen das alles gesehen haben. Die Erinnerung ist verblasst. Aber der Gro\u00dfe Saal ist noch vor Augen. Wirklich gro\u00df, wirklich weit weg ist die B\u00fchne. Gut gef\u00fcllt aber nicht ausverkauft. Wir sitzen im Rang in viel zu dick gepolsterten, unverr\u00fcckbaren Wohnzimmersesseln. Entschieden zu bequem f\u00fcr ein mitrei\u00dfendes Konzert, eher f\u00fcr stundenlange Parteitage ausgelegt. Das Konzert h\u00e4lt, was es verspricht. Burkes Stimme ist einzigartig. Die Stimmung emotional. Dann der H\u00f6hepunkt des Abends: \u00bbA Change Is Gonna Come\u00ab &#8211; das Lied zur Lage der Nation. Jubel. Endlich erhebt sich das Publikum m\u00fchsam aus den Polstersesseln: standing ovations. G\u00e4nsehaut. Feuchte Augen.
